Hi, I'm Daniëlle

I’ve been writing a YA dystopian fantasy series for almost eight years now. I used to steal time on Sunday mornings, squeezing in scenes between workdays and social catchups while constantly struggling to stay inspired. For years, my art was nothing more than a side hustle next to a demanding job.

Until I decided to give my dream a real shot. I paused my HR career and dedicated myself fully to my stories. For eight months I travelled the Asia-Pacific; Australia in particular, to immerse myself in the land that has inspired the fantasy world of my YA book series.  

Along the way, I’ve discovered that it’s not just travel, but the land and cultures that feed my imagination. And what began as a writing hobby in 2018, grew out to independent field research to craft my stories and a fascination to learn more about land-and place based storytelling. The more I discover, the more ideas pop into my mind for my current and a new fantasy world idea I will start developing soon, too. 

As I learn, research and write, I’m sharing my stories happening between my home country, the Netherlands and travels to Australia and beyond.
