Hi, I'm Daniëlle

I’ve been writing a YA dystopian fantasy series for over seven years. I used to steal time on Sunday mornings, squeezing in scenes between workdays and social catchups while constantly struggling to stay inspired. And while movement has always felt like a natural part of my rhythm, even draining my creative energy whenever I sat still for too long, I believed something was wrong with me for wanting more. So, I tried harder to fit into the mould of society instead of doing what truly lights me up. 

It took me two burnouts before I finally decided to give my dream and art a real shot. I said goodbye to an overdue HR career and gave myself permission to write my books and travel to Australia, the land that has inspired the fantasy world of my YA dystopian fantasy series. For the past year, I lived life as if it’s one big writing retreat moving between Perth, Broome, Bali and New-Zealand. 

 My dream is to have a tiny home by the ocean one day, for quiet writing and the freedom to travel whenever I seek new writing inspiration. Until then, my laptop and notebook are all I need to share my stories wherever life brings me.
